so far, this year feels a lot like the colors in these last two pictures. wild and vibrant but incredibly resonating. it’s filled with loud, booming moments and very still, alone moments. i began my second half of my junior year of college. i bid bon voyage to dear friends and have celebrated the return of others. i ran a half marathon and spent my month in san francisco, solvang, LA and san diego. i’m seeking wholeness and have thrown myself into complete creative and spiritual rehab. it’s making me notice more + feel more deeply + cry at the world. i’m painting again. writing again. i’m making 2014 travel plans, both abroad and in new places down the street. i’m booking up a summer and fall full of weddings, which is simultaneously thrilling, heart warming and forever humbling. this semester, academically, is a bit easier than my last but is much more engaging, book-heavy and thought provoking. i’ve read a lot of really incredibly writing and poetry and have cried more than once in my classes. we have deemed this another “say yes to everything” period of life and although i’m in a spot filled with questions, doubts and anything but normalcy, it’s been such a good thing. -
salvation mountain
one of my best days. it’s been a dream of mine to lay my eyes and feet on salvation mountain for a few years now. (if you don’t know what it is, google it + slab city + niland, CA + the salton sea. it’s all incredible. super cool things are way closer than you realize). it was well worth the wait. what a full day of spontaneity and playtime with my roommates and a very full sense of feeling very much like myself. this is another year of saying okay to the questions, yes to people and hellll yes to the adventures. and these are what help me remember the full-ness:
