since i was little, i considered myself the fourth schaefer sister and granddaughter. it would be an understatement to say that this family is dear to my heart and significant in shaping my childhood. kayla has always been the symbol of grace and wisdom–the older sister that i never had. & i have never seen her happier than when she is with hector. the two of them–true to their unconventionality, sincerity, and laid-back personalities–got married at the santa barbara courthouse in february. i was unable to attend, but truly treasure being able to experience the day through the eyes of lauren. last weekend, hector and kayla celebrated with their extended family and friends (and their dog darcy, ohmygosh my best friend) at the schaefer home in montecito. it was a fun, sweet family affair and i could not be happier for them both!! xx
one of the reasons you’re so inspiring is because you manage to photograph atmosphere rather than people. while you do have portraits and smiling faces, you manage to get important items and background “noise” that makes it feel like i’m actually at the party or wedding or whatever. thanks for being such a great photographer role model. (:
Thank you Mackenzie! Beautiful photos to help us always remember a beautiful event. So glad it was you that took them!
